To this day, I've sifted through at least 43 ideas, mainly across software, hardware, manufacturing, and gaming. It took me months of restless nights fighting a term I got to know firsthand: FOBO. Fear Of Better Options. In sheer frustration and anxiety, I've applied and had sprees of applying to jobs I never wanted. All because I couldn't determine how to narrow my list of ideas and what idea(s) to pursue.
One day, on a slow and bumpy train ride, it clicked for me while listening to Walter Isaacson's voice narrating Elon Musk explaining the Idiot Index and reading Shreyas Doshi's tweet explaining how: Impact = (Execution ^ Strategy) × Market. A spreadsheet (my sheet with ideas and all) with a few calculations would likely do the trick!
Fast-forward 45 minutes, I had a stack-rank of my ideas and had a short short-list. Voila! And I disembarked the train.
